In Memoriam....

Today, for me, is a day like no other.
The death of over 20 children in Sandy Brook Elementary
School in New Town, CT really hit close to home with me.
Aside from being a radio DJ, I am also a piano instructor,
as well as a poet. What hit me so hard was today, young
children were killed. This inside, bothers me because I teach
young children from the ages of 4 to 14 and the very thought
of them having to face death in any way, saddens me. Thanatos
is not an entity or being children should have to face. We all
know that existence is fleeting and Thanatos is a sad reality
that we all must face, but it should not be in the face of children...
and so rapidly, either...

On This Day....

The Gypsy Poet is going into a month-long celebration of her birthday,
for she is born on the day that the bombs fell on Pearl Harbor on
December 7... the Bombs fell in 1941, but The Gypsy Poet was
born in 1977. Yes, friends, I am 35 years old, Rockin' and still
shakin'. I have a chip on my shoulder, a mouth of wit, mojo
on the burner with a bit of a grit and an ax to grind....

In this season, I am now a syndicated Web-Radio DJ
on RokoutRadio.com. and now, I am escalating to
a massive, media thunderstorm!! A song was written
about me, for me, by a wonderful friend, Drew Seeley....
(Drew Seeley's Newest Single, has my name on it! :) )
put out this single and it makes me happy knowing that
my work and my name is reaching people by storm!
I am beyond words at the joy that I am experiencing
on this, being the week of my birthday!!

Thank you so much to Donny Morrow,
his wonderful wife, Selene and their team to make
this single happen!! This is my song, that I will carry
with me always!!! WOW!!!! :)

Life Gets Interesting...

I do not know exactly what is going on in this world that I have stumbled upon,
but I sure as hell like where this is going.
Gypsy Poet Radio looks like it is going somewhere
and I am enjoying the ride...
I got many more guests coming to make this ride happen.
What I like is going on, I am not only getting more listeners,
but more folks interested in The Gypsy Poet. For those of you reading,
I hope that you enjoy a copy of my newest work. I posted it on the side
panel here, but in case you don't see it, I will post it here, as well.

I have to thank Lucia Peregrim for her help in syndicating GPR
in her radio station on ROK OUT RADIO
 and giving some of us Indie folks a chance
to shine in a business that does not let you in easily. I noticed
that the moment I opened my mouth, the rest of them started
coming to me... no matter the acts... I have devoted my life
to GPR, my music and my poetry... I also want to thank
Marisa Herandez and Donny Morrow,  as well as
Christopher Hemingway for helping me put my book together.
They are truly amazing people and wonderful mentors.
The best can't get better than that... Let's see where 2013
takes us!

New Places, New Faces, New Spaces...

So, I finally am up and running in the Indie world once again...
I am back on the air, and I am selling my newest title in its new home,
 it is called Mysterium. In case you don't know yet, I am now
syndicated at a radio station in Scranton, Pennsylvania,
called ROK OUT RADIO, which is a station devoted to the
local and international music scene in the North East and it is
 a metal station... not that I mind it...
I am more of a mouth than what I used to be,
and the features I am doing are a little heavier than
ever before. This, I have to add, I do enjoy because
I don't take any guff from anybody to begin with.
My radio program, Gypsy Poet Radio is about my
own self discovery and assimilating in this massive world.

I must admit that I have learned a lot in these last couple of years
of self-publishing, self promoting and self-everything to get myself out
there and going. In this month alone, I realized that with my mouth and
profound insights, I could easily get publicity for the acts that come on
my radio program... and all they have to do is call in...

Gypsy Poet Radio, Roses On the Piano Publishing, are just two things
that make my world spin... I got the world by the tail and I can't be taken
down, for death does not kill what never dies...

IT IS HAPPENING!

Finally, I am on IMBb!!!!!

and I am working as a composer
of music for this project!

I am excited to let you know that
I am working on more book projects
as well as more music to come for this project and more...

It is finally coming into gear and I am going
 to kick some ass in the process...

and I will also be making a very big move in the
coming weeks. Once I get my editing finished,
my work will then be featured on a site called,
Createspace, which is owned by amazon.com
and my work will b re-distributed all around the world...

MYSTERIES RELEASED!

My 2nd publication of poetry is finally released on lulu and I am anticipating

its release in major retailers in the coming weeks! Finally!!! 

Mysterium  is on its way!! 

Now, my latest project since the release has not only been about

the publicity of the latest work, but I have also been working on

projects for up and coming magazines and one of them is 

The San Antonio Review for two organizations. 

They are: Poets Without Borders and Open City 360 Poets.

These are collaborating organizations to make a new magazine

happen in San Antonio, Texas and I am helping in the collaboration

to make the San Antonio Review happen for them. My project

at the moment is hush-hush, but I thought to give you, the reader,

a little teaser! I'm full of surprises... Keep that in mind... 

I'll be around again soon...

The Muse is Inspiring...

These days, I am working on a soundtrack for an upcoming
television showthat is looking into getting picked up by
the networks. It's called Manchester High and I'm writing
some of the music to the show. Some of the bits can be found
on Sophia- The Gypsy Poet Myspace Music Page and
it's not really my best work, but the Muse is quite inspiring
recently and I'm glad to be writing music again...
I have missed writing for piano and strings and I am also
 experimenting with different sound colors, too. I hope you enjoy
the peek and may the music be "A sound that creeps into you
 and a mood that passes through you"
(in the words of Michael Nyman)....

Angels Vs. Demons NOW ON AMAZON!!

This month, The Poetry Anthology, Angels Vs. Demons 
is now released on amazon!! In the last month, one of my most
requested poems was put in the anthology collected from poets
all over the world! The wonderful Barry Mowles has come forward
and requested my material to be put in the anthology... More to come
on this story...

Also, Voices De La Luna Magazine has its latest issue out for this quarter
and from that magazine, will come new and fantastic things!

Shooting Star....

Looks like the fireworks are starting to erupt! I just found out today

that Voices De La Luna just published my work in their

New Project while book seasons...

So, Gypsy here is coming up with a new project.

I got a new song I am working for a TV Show

that is getting picked up. The new show is 

called Manchester High and they asked me

to create a theme song for the show. 

So far, it looks good and sounds good--

There are a few changes that need to be 

made, but that is all a part of the creative

process. The job is amazing. I love what 

I do for this show. The theme song is coming

along beautifully. The piano arrangement

always comes first-- because it's where

the idea begins. I can't wait till this song

comes out-- This TV show will blow 

folks away for sure!! :) 

The book is still in editing and will be 

done in a matter of weeks. Mysterium

 drops on may 31st....

Amazon Author Central Page... LIVE!!!!

Amazon.com is wonderful enough to allow me to create
my Author Central page on their website and I am grateful
for the opportunity to put it together. You will now see my
blogspot page here linked on my new page which made its
debut last night on amazon.com and there will be much more
to come soon.
These days, I am enjoying time off in creating my next work
which is to be released on May 31st, and later to amazon and
Barnes & Noble -just to name a few.

Later this season, I am expecting my work to appear in
Voices De La Luna magazine-- I'll be sure to post the link
for that, as well...

In Stillness--

In the midst of the new month coming,
I am finishing up the last few
poems of my next publication.
I have a few more left to put together
then, it goes off to editing...
The book will drop on May 31st--
The name: Mysterium
It's about the mysteries of life...
As always, I find a way to keep folks
intrigued with new stuff. By Mid-June to July,
it will drop in major retailers--
Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million
and others along the way...
Never have I been so happy in knowing
that I can put poetry out there and folks would
want to read it-- No matter what...
My goal is to achieve my dreams--
music to come... Poetry made it happen...

Europe Is Calling....

My newest ventures are coming about and I got published again in the UK.
Thanks to a wonderful young man named Barry Kowles who welcomed me
to this circle of poets and enjoyed some of my pieces, I am now featured
 in his newest volume called Angels Vs. Demons.  This tells me right here,
that I am an established poet. I've been featured
in various places in the US and that makes me happy.
 But now, my work is expanding in
Europe, which makes me even more grateful.
 I never thought that stuff that I have put down
paper would finally be put out there for the world to
 see in the way that it has. People know
my writing, now. They also know my style.
It feels really good knowing that no matter what,
my work makes it out there.
 The latest piece that was published
is called "The View/The City"--
this is a poem written when I was on the 12th floor of a
building watching the city dance before me
while I was listening to Jazz music in my i-pod.
Since then, "The View/The City"
made its debut in the literary Journal,
"The Write Place At the Write Time" ---
This is its 3rd feature, considering it made
it to the anthology, On Mended Wings: 
The Poetry Anthology Benefitting NAMI.

There are more publications to come
that are going worldwide...
Be on the lookout for them.

Canada Calling!!

This week has been a busy one for me here. I am working on putting the next book together, as well as the fact that coming this Friday, I have a spot on CFRC 101.9 for the radio program for poets in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, called "Finding A Voice"-- This is the first time I did an interview outside of online radio and the ride into poetry is becoming more and more exciting as I go along. I've done countless performances and slowly going onto real radio Such as Radio San Antonio, and now, Finding A Voice, which is a well-known show on the Canadian scene and is probably the equivalent to NPR here in the US, which deals specifically for talent in poetry.

It's coming pretty far... My talent is growing. The only thing I know right now is I am doing all of this from the ground up. The people I've met along the way, the adversity I have encountered is really temporary. The Gypsy Poet's audience is growing and it's amazing to see how far the moniker is coming. Slowly, but surely, I am out to create more material for the world to see... I anticipate what other countries call my way... My hope is to one day, light the world my own way.... :)

PROMOS, PUBLICITY, PR...

A former guest my Gypsy Poet Radio, my radio show back in my Blogtalkradio days just got his newest publication out called Another Time, A Different Place By Bill Hale! :) His last release was Metallica:The Club Dayz 1982-1984.  It's been a while since I have done a promo for a friend & guest on my show and I figured to put this out there to let folks know what's going on... Wonderful photos of bands that still impact the world today, both Metallica and Megadeth... I will admit that I do enjoy these bands. Despite being a classically-trained & educated musician on the piano, I LOVE anything that has to do with Rock n' Roll,
Metal-- anything of that nature because both what is called "Classical" and Rock/Metal, are VERY detail-oriented genres of music. One thing that Bill and I talked about in terms of rock n' roll is that in rock, there is a distinct comradery and friendship that is not always found in the classical world. Since that interview, I learned to fuse the attitude, but the warmth of rock, into the material I create and I will admit that Bill taught me a lot about how to see the world, through quite a different lens at the time, but still is used to this day...

This coming year is going to be a blast and I know it.
I got featured on Radio San Antonio on the Jay Tope Morning Show
with Jay Tope and Irma G., and I got more coming to make their
show a blast... I am now working on putting my next book together--
I got the poems ready, now to compile them into the book... it's
finally coming together! :) A special thanks to Donny Morrow for
designing the cover!! And to my muses! You know who you are!!
Radio is calling again, soon... coming home to my mastery... :)

CITY LIGHTS SHINE ON RADIO SAN ANTONIO!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The Gypsy Poet got a spot on Radio San Antonio this week on WEDNESDAY,
FEBRUARY 8, 2012. I will be talking about the latest features of my original
poetry, as well as reading some of my material of past and present on the air!!
The show is The Jay Tope Morning Show and I will be on at 8:15 AM...

Venues... and Destenie....

2011 was a good year to me because I got four releases
before the year was over. I released my first short story
on Nook by Barnes & Noble and I-book by Apple called
"Ernie's Beginning: An excerpt from 
Lady Angela's Place"  which is part of a short story
collection, as well as "Common Ground: Music and 
Literature In The Romantic Era" which is an essay
referring to the two mediums and showing relations
between them in that period. Both releases are out now.

The other two releases are On Mended Wings: 
An Anthology benefitting NAMI 
and of course, the one that started it all,
A Voice Over Time.  They are both in bookstores
online and will be at your request at retailers listed.


 Since then, I have been featured in 3 literary magazines.
  I have been featured in New Age Venus ,  The Write Place
At The Write Time as well as Voices De La Luna in San Antonio,
Texas.

Now, I am slowly but surely getting features in independent places
such as Destinie Radio Network and they were kind enough to
give me a link with some great features!! :) Please, take a peek

here! :) this is  me on Posterous ...  They were kind enough to
feature me on their websites and other platforms. They also
sponsor an organization called United Caregivers Of America
which is a non-profit organization to help folks in nursing homes

booksellers in the country and I have much more to go.
