In death we are all equal...

***Vision of Equality in Hindsight ***

**I see myself in you.**

**I find myself in you because you reflect**

**what I am the most afraid...**

**In death, we are all equal**

**in life, we try so hard to compete in this thing**

**we call the Human Race**

**we compete--**

**with our gifts, with our weaknesses--**

**we step forward to turn our weaknesses into strengths--**

**to surpass the others-- to leave them in the dust--**

**not realizing we are in some way, the same...**

**In death, we are all equal**

**We spend our lives competing for a better quality of life--**

**When we fail to teach each other how to live--**

**This tells me I have failed as a human being**

**because I could not see myself in you while you were standing before me.**

**I cannot fathom the soul that I am, as Hippocrates once said, the soul**

**is the same, but in a different body--**

**This assures me more and more in this moment---**

**That in Death, we are all equal...**
